Are you attending a festival or event in Leeuwarden? Then it’s nice to stay nearby. From our location, you can easily walk to various events in the city center, and you won’t have to rely on transportation or deal with long travel times afterward.

Thanks to digital check-in, you can also arrive flexibly, even if you arrive later in the evening. This way, your festival weekend starts off relaxed and hassle-free. On the day of check-in, you’ll receive an email with a digital key to access the hotel and your room. Follow the signs to your room and swipe your smartphone to open the door.

Into the grave

Into the Grave is one of the Netherlands’ most famous metal festivals and attracts visitors from across the country and abroad to Leeuwarden every year. During the festival, the city center transforms into a bustling hub for fans of live music, food trucks, and the festival atmosphere.

Every year, the Prinsentuin Concerts offer a delightful series of live performances in De Prinsentuin city park. With music by the water, cozy outdoor seating areas, and a relaxed atmosphere, this is a beloved event for both residents and visitors to Leeuwarden.

And an extra bonus: it’s just a 750 meter walk from De Prinsentuin to Vie Via. So after an evening of music, you can easily walk back without the hassle of transportation or parking.

TAPT Festival Leeuwarden

TAPT Festival is known for its craft beer, great music, food trucks, and a lively festival atmosphere. The event attracts visitors who want to enjoy a relaxing day outdoors with friends, music, and a variety of food options.

Can I also check in late after a festival?

Yes, whenever you want. On the day of arrival, you will receive a digital key via email. With it, you can open both the main entrance and your room, even at 3 AM. No reception, no queue, just swipe and sleep.

How far is it to walk to the festival grounds?

Most events in Leeuwarden are located 750 meters to 1 kilometer from Vie Via. Into the Grave, TAPT Festival, and Leeuwarden Open Air can be reached in about a 12-minute walk. The Fries Street Festival and the Prinsentuin concerts are even closer, about an 8 to 10-minute walk.

We are going to a festival with a group of friends. Can we book together?

Sure. Make a separate reservation for each person so that everyone receives their own digital key. This way, you can arrive and depart at different times without having to wait for each other. For groups larger than ten rooms, you can email hello@hotelvievia.nl for a quote.

Do you have rooms for multiple people?

Vie Via has twelve family rooms and three triple rooms where you can sleep with three or four people. Ideal for a group of friends doing a festival weekend together.

Can I store my belongings somewhere if I arrive earlier?

Are you there before 3:00 PM? Ring the bell, our host will let you in. Your luggage goes into a locker in the basement and you head into the city or towards the festival. As soon as your room is ready, you will automatically receive your digital key.

Is there anything to eat or drink if I come back late?

Our honesty shop is open 24/7. Snacks, drinks, wine in a can, everything you need after an evening festival. Take what you want, scan, pay, and enjoy.

Where can I park during a festival weekend?

Parking garage Zaailand is open 24/7 and is a five-minute walk from Vie Via. Day rate is around €15. Tip: during major festivals, it is often busier, so arrive on time or leave the car at home.

Can I book multiple nights around a festival?

Of course. Many guests book two or three nights to make the most of a festival weekend. Check the website for any specials around festival periods.
